Day by Day Itinerary

Tanzania Budget Safari

DAY 01: ARUSHA – LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK.

The morning after breakfast in your hotel, you will be picked up with your guide ready to start your safari to Lake Manyara National Park with your packed lunch. Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Highlands includes thousands of pink-hued flamingoes on their perpetual migration, as well as other large water birds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favoured haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked Elephants. Squadrons of banded mongoose dart between the acacias, while the diminutive kirk’s dik-dik forages in their shade. Pairs of klipspringer are often seen silhouetted on the rocks above a field of searing hot springs that steams and bubbles adjacent to the lakeshore in the far south of the park. In the evening you will drive and overnight in Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge (FB)

DAY 02: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK.

Soon after breakfast you will pack your things and drive to Serengeti National Park for a game drive along with your packed lunch. Serengeti National Park is arguably the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world. Serengeti means “endless plains” in the Maasai language, and within its boundaries are more than three million large animals. About 35 species of plains animals may be seen here including the so-called “big five” – Buffalo, Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Cheetah and African hunting dog. Unfortunately, very few of the latter remain in the Serengeti. Originally exterminated as a threat to domestic stock they have more recently become a victim of canine distemper. On the way to Serengeti, you will be able to stop on the top of the Ngorongoro Crater view for few minutes for taking pictures and admiring the view. It surely a breathtaking view, it will bring you so many good feelings. Then in the afternoon, you will have your lunch at the picnic site.

After lunch, you will continue with the game drive. In the evening you will be driven to Serengeti Sound of Silence luxury camp for dinner and overnight. (FB)

DAY 03: FULL DAY IN SERENGETI.

Early after breakfast, you will have a full day game drive with your packed lunch. Due to the presence of wildebeest migration, predators are likely to hunt around the area. If you are lucky enough you will be able to see a large number of Lion pride longing along the grass or even crossing the road or even hunting. I bet you will have a unique natural experience in the Ndutu area and take a bunch of pictures for long last memory. Serengeti is not only famous for it’s a variety of animals but also for the volume of animals. Flying into and out of the Serengeti certainly cuts down on journey times and maximizes quality time to enjoy the game experiences in this National Park which is world-renowned for having some of the best big game viewing in Africa.

After a long day of adventures and wonderful experience you will be driven back to Serengeti Sound of Silence luxury camp for dinner and overnight (FB)

DAY 04: SERENGETI – NGORONGORO CRATER.

Earlier in the morning after breakfast, you will park your things with your parked lunch ready to leave Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a crater tour. On your way to Ngorongoro as you exit Serengeti under an endless grass plain with the shade of morning sunrise which brings a calm feeling with the morning breeze. You will continue with possible game viewing which is worthy of beautiful scenery.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area boasts the finest blend of land scarps, wildlife, people and archaeological sites in Africa. Traditional African pastoralists co-operative with Tanzania’s boards to help preserve the natural resources of the area and to ensure a fantastic experience for visitors. Usually considered to be the highlight of a northern Tanzania safari, Ngorongoro crater is not only the natural phenomenon –an unbroken caldera with a rim at 800 ft [2450 mtrs] above sea level with 2000 ft [600 mtrs] high “walls”- but a wildlife spectacle that is unique, where it is possible to see black Rhino, elephant, Buffalo, prides of Lions, Hippo and a wide variety of plains game, together with amazing variety of birdlife, forest and plains, fresh water and soda lakes all “within” one mountain.
